The kitchen – one of the most important rooms in the house, where we spend quite a lot of time. The period during which your kitchen will keep its natural beauty and warmth mostly depends on how well you take care of it. If you treat it with care and use it properly, your furniture will keep its beautiful appearance and the built-in mechanisms in good working condition for a long time. Please read this guide carefully – it will help you avoid the unpleasant consequences of improper use of your kitchen furniture.
- GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1.1. Protect the furniture surfaces from mechanical damage. In order to avoid scratches and cracks, do not let sharp and heavy objects fall on the kitchen furniture surface.
1.2. Protect the furniture from direct sunlight, heat and continuous exposure to moisture, especially at the seams of the Worktop, in the places where the sink and cooking hob are installed.
1.3. When preparing meals, it is essential to use kitchen extractor hoods to keep the optimal humidity in the room and to prevent direct steam from entering the body and front parts of the product, which over time can lead to a decrease in its quality and appearance (cause edge delamination, material bloating, deformation, etc.). The capacity and power of the kitchen extractor hood must be suitable for the space in which the kitchen furniture is used. Do not under any circumstances cover the ventilation openings in the kitchen. Ventilate the room periodically.
- ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
It is important to know that environmental conditions and climatic characteristics have a direct impact on the condition of your kitchen furniture: appearance, quality and performance.
2.2. The following factors must be observed in order to avoid rapid aging of the paint and varnish coating, curvature and deformation of furniture elements: light, humidity, temperature.
2.2.1. Light:
do not allow direct sunlight to affect the kitchen furniture. Prolonged direct contact with sunlight in some areas may cause discoloration of these areas of the kitchen set. As a result, if you replace or add some elements to the set, there may be visible differences in color, which is not considered a sign of poor-quality furniture. This difference will become less noticeable over time.
2.2.2 Humidity:
45-70% is the recommended relative humidity at the location of the furniture product. The increased humidity in the room where the kitchen set is located will eventually affect the integrity of the furniture elements or their individual parts. The reduced humidity also affects the quality of the furniture.
If you want to create a favorable atmosphere for your furniture, you need to normalize the relative humidity – this can be achieved by using dehumidifiers or humidifiers. The surface of the furniture must be kept dry always.
2.2.3 Temperature:
high or low temperatures, as well as sudden changes in temperature, may severely damage the furniture or its individual parts. The recommended temperature for storage and use of the furniture is from +10°C to +35°C.
Avoid contact of hot objects (iron, pot, frying pan, etc.) with the furniture or prolonged contact with radiation that causes heating (light from powerful lamps, unshielded microwave radiators, etc.).
It is recommended to install specialized built-in appliances in kitchen furniture.
- RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE CARE OF WORKTOPS
Recommendations for the use and care of kitchen Worktops made of postforming.
3.1. Postformed kitchen furniture worktops (chipboard coated with HPL plastic) are particularly sensitive to moisture at the joints, so it is strictly forbidden to damage the sealant layer at the joints. When water enters the joint, wipe it off immediately to avoid penetration into the Worktop base. If boiling water or hot food splashes on the plastic worktop, it may cause deep stains, so be sure to wipe the Worktop with a wet tissue.
3.2. In order to avoid swelling of the worktop and peeling of the plastic edge, do not allow water to gather on its surface.
3.3 Do not allow contact with the Worktop plastic surface with smoldering cigarettes, hot irons, baking trays and pans from the oven or stove, etc. Make sure you use a heat-insulating stand.
3.4. Do not leave frozen foods on the Worktop surface for a long time, as the sudden temperature changes may damage the base of the Worktop.
3.5. Do not process or cut food on the surface of the Worktop, be sure to use special cutting boards for this.
3.6. Care for the Worktops and wall panels should be carried out with a soft tissue, foam sponge or special brushes. It is recommended to use household detergents to clean any type of Worktops.
3.7. It is absolutely not allowed to use hard scrapers, sponges with a coating of plastic or metal material, as well as aggressive, abrasive materials and acid-based detergents when cleaning the Worktop.
3.8. Do not use products containing grease and wax to clean surfaces. Furniture polishers will leave a coating on the treated surfaces, so they are not recommended.
3.9. If beetroot juice, concentrated juices, dyes, chemicals, strong bleaches are spilled on the surface of the Worktop, wipe them off immediately and then wash the surface properly.
3.10. For removing severe dirt or oil stains from the laminated surface, use detergents containing ammonia locally.
3.11. When replacing or adding some elements to the set, there may be visible differences in color, which is not a sign of poor-quality furniture.
- CONDITIONS OF USE AND MAINTENANCE OF POLYVINYL CHLORIDE AND ACRYLIC DOORS.
We recommend not to expose doors coated with polyvinyl chloride plastic to prolonged hot air (namely from a loosely closed oven door). Make sure you use kitchen extractor hoods for cooking, as the abundant release of hot steam (over 50°C) can lead to peeling of the coating or its deformation. Do not allow direct contact of the doors with surfaces with a temperature above 70°C.
4.2. Doors coated with polyvinyl chloride plastic and doors with polyvinyl chloride plastic inserts should be protected from any aggressive liquids (solvents, gasoline, acids, acetone, etc.).
4.3. The surfaces of doors coated with polyvinyl chloride plastic shall be protected from impacts and sharp objects.
4.4. Do not allow direct exposure to sunlight on the doors. Prolonged direct exposure to sunlight in some areas may cause a decrease in their chromatic characteristics, compared to other areas that were less exposed to radiation.
4.5. In order to avoid bending and swelling of MDF of the doors, their surface should be protected from prolonged exposure to moisture.
4.6. Wipe the surfaces regularly with a soft tissue using cleaning agents specially designed for the care of products.
4.7. Do not use abrasives, detergents, strong solvents and acids, as well as sponges with hard coatings (with metal or plastic chips) for cleaning doors, cornices and decorative sidewalls.
4.8. Do not use detergents containing chlorine, strong solvents and acids for cleaning. The tissues (cloths) shall not contain any aggressive chemicals, compounds and inclusions of abrasive materials and elements.
4.9. It is possible to use polishes for plastic surfaces of furniture, which, in general, also have cleaning properties. At the same time, polishes that have contraindications in terms of contact with food should not be used for polishing kitchen furniture. In case of liquid spillage on the doors coated with polyvinyl chloride plastic, immediately absorb the liquid with an absorbent tissue, napkin or sponge and wipe dry with a soft tissue.
4.10. In case of replacing or adding new components to the interior from the same collections, at different times, as well as from different batches, there may be a difference in the color of the door. This difference cannot be considered a sign of low-quality furniture. In general, it becomes less noticeable over time and is completely natural.
- CONDITIONS FOR THE USE AND MAINTENANCE OF MDF DOORSWITH PAINTED SURFACES.
5.1. The paint and varnish coating of MDF doors achieves full strength in 21 (twenty-one) days after its application.
5.2. It is not recommended to remove the protective film from the doors until the furniture installation process is completed.
5.3. Paint and varnish surfaces, doors with inserts made of paint and varnish surfaces should be protect from any aggressive liquids (solvents, gasoline, acids, acetone, etc.).
5.4. Do not use cleaning products containing abrasive parts, detergents, strong solvents and acids, as well as hard-coated sponges (with metal or plastic chips) when cleaning doors, cornices and decorative sidewalls.
5.5. Do not use detergents containing chlorine, strong solvents and acids for cleaning.
5.6. Protect the paint and varnish surfaces from impacts and sharp objects.
5.7. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
5.8. Wipe the surfaces regularly with a soft tissue using cleaning agents specially designed for the care of products. The tissue (cloth) must not contain any aggressive chemicals, compounds, or inclusions of abrasive materials and elements.
5.9. It is possible to use polish for lacquered furniture surfaces, which, as a rule, also has cleaning properties. At the same time, polishes that have contraindications in contact with food should not be used for polishing kitchen furniture.
5.10. In case of any liquid spillage on the painted surfaces, immediately blot it with an absorbent cloth or sponge and wipe dry with a soft tissue.
5.11. In case of replacing or adding new components to the interior from the same collections and at different times, as well as from different batches, the color difference of the doors may occur. This difference cannot be considered a sign of low-quality furniture. In general, it becomes less noticeable over time and is absolutely natural.
